Choral and Strings Concert

On Thursday evening, June 1, the College’s String and Choral groups made their way to Red Hill, for a special concert in the picturesque St Brigid’s Church. This well-known landmark of Red Hill provided a wonderful setting for our Choral and String ensembles. It was fantastic to see the development across the year levels - congratulations to all students and staff involved.

Creative Industries Week

In Week 7 the College’s Arts Department celebrated Creative Industries Week with a number of engaging workshops across all of the Creative Industries faculties. The following video excerpts give a glimpse of some of these activities.

Queensland Conservatorium State Honours Ensemble Program

The College was well represented at Queensland Conservatorium State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) over the weekend of June 2 - 4. Congratulations to the following students who participated; Andrew Boys, Toby Campbell, Max Gallagher, Marshall Hair, Max Hammond, Cooper Heather, Cade Kelly, Thomas Lynn, Loughlan Patterson, Riordan Patterson, Riley Peacock, Jack Rosenberg, Samuel Warren and Felix Woolmer.

Guitar Summit

Well done to all of the boys and staff who collaborated in the Guitar Summit on June 8. This event provided an opportunity for all of the College’s Guitar Ensembles to experience a combination of workshops and sectionals under the guidance of guest director, Dr Anthony Garcia, followed by a concert for the College community. Dr Anthony Garcia, a Marist College Ashgrove Old Boy, is an acclaimed guitarist, composer and educator who has recorded, performed, and collaborated extensively throughout the world with creatives across a diverse range of artistic disciplines.

Queensland Catholic College Music Festival

As per the date hold communicated at the beginning of the year, we are pleased to confirm the College’s participation in this year’s Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival. We are pleased to be involved in this great festival which hosts musical performances from Catholic School Ensembles from all around Queensland.

  • Dates 18 - 20 August, 2023
  • Ensembles Involved: Wind Orchestra 1, Chamber Strings, Symphony Orchestra, Big Band 1, Big Band 2, Marist Voices, Performance Choir and Chamber Choir.
  • Exact Performance Dates and Times will be communicated to ensemble members as soon as they are made available.
