Principal's Update

Hi

I would like to thank the community of Waverley Meadows for making me feel so welcome! I have been here 3 weeks and I feel I am already getting to know lots of names of students.

There has been so much happening already. I have met with the SRC ( Student Representative Council) a couple of times and they were keen to host an event this term -so we had our pyjama day on the last day of term and they voted to watch Finding Nemo - which was a great choice. The students were keen to donate to a charity focussing on homeless young people. Mandy and the students put together a fantastic Assembly to farewell Alison Lough - who has done an extraordinary job as Principal over the last 3 years.

I am thrilled to be here for Term 3 and am really looking forward to The Production - Pirates of the Currybean and Book Week as well as lots of other exciting things.

I had previously booked in Long Service Leave for the first 2 weeks of term 3 so unfortunately I wont be back until July 24.

Outside School Hours Care

Families enrolled in our out of school hours care program will be aware that Community OSH are unable to continue as our OSHC provider past the end of this term.  The School Council are working on the appointment of a new OSHC service and hope to have this established some time in Term 3. In the interim, our students requiring before or after care will need to be enrolled with Camp Australia at Brandon Park Primary School. Hollie and Clare (& other listed teachers) will be transporting the students from before care at Brandon Park to WMPS and transporting them from WMPS to Brandon Park after school for the duration of time we are without a OSHC service. Information on how to sign up to Camp Australia has been sent to all currently enrolled OSHC families and the wider school community has been informed via Compass . For more information, please contact the office at waverley.meadows.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

Be Safe:

Enjoy a happy and safe holiday and I look forward to seeing everyone back next term.
