Term 3 Writers Club

Next term, English Teachers at Epping Secondary College are pleased to announce the start of our Creative Writer’s Club.  This will run on Thursday lunchtimes in S6 and 7.

The workshops will explore various genres of writing, such as poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and playwriting. Students will have the opportunity to learn from each other, share their writing techniques, and receive guidance from one another.

Writing prompts and challenges will be used to inspire students to think outside the box and enhance their imaginative abilities. These prompts can range from visual stimuli to wordplay exercises, helping students develop their unique writing styles and experiment with different literary techniques.

Peer critique sessions, where students can share their work-in-progress and receive constructive feedback from their fellow writers, will also take place. These sessions will nurture a culture of supportive criticism and help students refine their writing skills.

We will work towards publishing an annual anthology or a school literary magazine that showcases the remarkable talents of our students (as per student permission granted).

This will provide an exciting opportunity for aspiring writers to see their work in print and gain recognition within the school community.

Our first session will commence at lunchtime on Thursday 13th July.
