Literature Excursion

On the 15th of May, the Year 12, 11 and 10 Literature students attended an excursion to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). The excursion allowed us to view famous art pieces and analyse them from different perspectives, understanding the historical context behind the art.

Our tour guide guided us through a few famous pieces, one of which was The Banquet of Cleopatra by Giambattista Tiepolo.

We were able to sit and discuss the piece and dissect the meanings behind different elements.

We then toured the State Library to get a feel for the space and read about the history of books. We learnt about how they were made and different fonts, and toured the dome of the library.

Overall, it was a great experience for us Literature students.

Thank you to Ms. McCarthy and Mr. Fab for taking us.
