Science News

Wow! What a start to Term 3! The Science department has been busy with rat dissections, catapults and exploring DNA. The year 8s have been exploring the human body and the amazing things it does to make us live, grow and repair. This resulted in a rat dissection which was met with much excitement from the year 8s (and some apprehension!). The year 11 Biology classes also dissected pregnant rats which had students wondering how everything fits in the body during pregnancy. The year 7s have been busy finishing off the unit of Forces by making catapults. The year 9s continue to explore the topic of acid and bases by testing the acidity of oranges and lemons. The year 10 Science investigations classes are exploring the topic of Forensic Science by examining blood splatter. We are looking forward to a busy and exciting Term 3!
