Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program
The grade 3s started their adventure into the SAKG program this term. Their first sessions in the garden and kitchen was met with enthusiasm and excitement. There were a lot of interesting questions and discoveries, and their behaviour was outstanding.
In the garden, the students are getting their wheelbarrow licences! Everyone will get a chance to practise their skills. First up was Chaw, Ella, Vishak and William.
For their first kitchen session, they are practising to use knives safely. With the group making soup, you can see them safely cutting and respecting their partners' space. This week, the students made flat bread, apple muffins and spicy pumpkin and bok choy soup. I heard the muffins were delicious!
On their journey, the students get to prepare and try new and tasty food. They also get to share the food with their class members, and Mr Goldsmith!
