Flight Centre
Tamara Moore is a parent of Lyndhurst Primary School, and a mobile travel consultant with Flight Centre. Tamara has kindly offered to donate 1% of total holiday bookings back to the school, when Lyndhurst Primary School is mentioned. Trivia Night
The Trivia Night was a huge success, raising $6660 for the school. Thank you to all who attended, including the 2 tables of teachers, and hope everyone had a fun night. A big thank you must go to our major sponsors for the evening: Raine & Horne Real Estate Lyndhurst, Afford2Smile Dental Clinic, Coco Bean Desserts & Café, Bayside Motor Works, S & P Glazing, DSH Cards and Nutura.
We are very grateful for the support of these businesses! In addition, we had many local and statewide businesses who donated vouchers and items for auction and raffle prizes. Thank you very much to everyone who donated, as the night would not have been successful without your support.
Shopping Tour
Unfortunately, the shopping tour has been cancelled due to lack of numbers.
Walkathon
Notices will have now been sent home for our major Fundraiser, The Walkathon, which is to be held on Thursday 26th October. The theme for this year is “Wicked Walkathon’.
Return your sponsor form (no money) before the end of term to be eligible to go into the prize draw on the first Monday after the holidays. There are a huge amount of weekly prizes to win for all those who return their forms.
For the students who raise the most amount of money the prizes will include a Lenovo Tablet (kindly donated by Ray White Real Estate), Nintendo DSi XL, and Family Entertainment Pack.
There will also be prizes for the highest amount raised in each year level, along with a class party for the highest money raising class.
Outdoor Seating
We are pleased that a portion of PFA funds raised this year will be allocated to outdoor seating, and creating quiet spaces for students to use. This has now been approved by School Council, and anticipated that the outdoor seating area will be available in Term 4.
Canteen Feedback
All parents/guardians will be receiving an email survey in regard to the school canteen. The school canteen is managed privately, and not by the school, however the PFA would like your feedback about the canteen menu and service. We would appreciate constructive opinions in order for us to communicate with the managers and to improve the service for you and your children.

2017 Fundraising Activities – ‘Save The Date’:
Walkathon Thursday 26th October
Aim of 2017 Fundraising
Many parents ask ‘what are we raising money for’?
- Walkathon and Trivia Night are our major fundraisers. Our aim in 2017 from these events is to raise funds for outdoor seating and tables to extend the play spaces, and particularly to encourage quiet spaces. We are also aiming to fund decking and shade sails in the portable areas.
- All other fundraisers from the PFA this year will go towards purchasing a large projector and screen for the school gym to be used for assemblies, parent evenings, movie nights and other community events.
Second Hand Uniform Stall
The Second Hand Uniform Stall will be running regularly, on the 1st Tuesday of every month. The next stall will be held on Tuesday 10th October from 8.30-9.00am and in the afternoon from 3.00-3.45 in the school gym. If anyone has any uniforms they would like to donate to the school, please hand them to the office. All clothes must be clean, without holes and able to be worn.
Meeting
The next PFA meeting will be held on Thursday 14th September at 7.00pm in the school staff room, and we would love to see new parents join us then.
