Sentral Parent Portal

The Parent Portal is coming to Lyndhurst Primary School. This initiative will allow you to log onto the SENTRAL website at any time, to get a deeper insight into your child’s learning. Some of the features available will be resources and links to useful sites including the school newsletter, attendance information, term planners and student reports.

All families will have their own individual log in details, which will be sent home in the form of a letter this Wednesday the 13th of September. You will also receive detailed instructions on how to create and log into your own account.

The process involved in getting access to the portal can be summed up in two basic steps:

  1. Receive a letter from the school, with your registration URL (type this into the address bar of your browser) and personal access key.
  2. Register online, and then enter your access key.

The instructions you receive along with your letter will go into more detail about the process.

Parent Portal Drop-In Sessions

If you are having difficulties in setting up your Sentral Parent Portal account or with navigating the site, we will be providing support sessions for anyone who needs assistance. Parents can drop-in at any time during the following times for a quick tutorial with a staff member.

These sessions will be held in the Grade 2 Learning Area at the following times:

Thursday 14th of Sept 3:45pm – 4:30pm

Monday 18th of Sept 3:45pm – 5:00pm

Thursday 21st of September 3:45pm – 4:30pm & 5:00pm – 6:00pm

Please bring the letter you received with your access key and the instruction sheets to this session. If you cannot make one of these times please contact the office to make alternate arrangements.

4pm Bell

Any students that are still waiting on school grounds to be picked up must come to the Office when the 4pm bell goes.

Staff Car Park

Just a reminder to our students and families that the students are not allowed to walk through the Staff Car Park on their way to and from class.

Unless parents have a disabled sticker, there should be no parents parking in the staff car park between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm.

Student Early Departures

As of 2017 there will be no early pickups between 3pm and 3.30pm without an appointment card from a medical centre (Doctor, Dentist, Optometrist etc.). Special circumstances must be approved by the Principal.

It is a legal requirement for all parents or guardians coming to pick up children from the Office to show photo ID, e.g. Drivers Licence, Passport or Proof of Age Card.

If you are not picking up your own children, we will need to call the child’s parents to confirm, unless we have been notified prior to the pickup, as well as see photo ID. Please take this into account if you are picking children up for an appointment.

Children & Pets in Cars

We would like to remind families that it is illegal and dangerous to leave children, or pets, in the car unattended at any time.

Working With Children Cards

In 2017 all parent helpers attending school excursions will need to have provided a copy of their Working with Children card to the Office before they can attend an excursion.

Dismissal of Students

Continuing on from last year, all students will be dismissed through the external doors of their classrooms.

Parents are to wait at the outside doors and not the internal corridors. Both measures are to reduce the amount of traffic through the school building. Your assistance is appreciated.

Please organise a meeting place for your child/ren if they are in classrooms at opposite end of the school. It is not possible for the Office to do announcements for 650 families to help children find each other.

Any children directed to the Office if their parents are running late will be directed to wait outside the front Office doors. Staff are on duty until 3.45pm.
