Assistant Principal's Report

Year 4 Camp

Last week 70 year 4 students attended the 3 day camp at Camp Rumbug, Foster. This was an adventure based camp with activities including flying fox, canoeing, low ropes challenge and abseiling.

Despite some challenging weather, the students participated well and had a wonderful time.

Thank you to Andrew Klimsch and the year 4 teaching team for their organisation and running of the camp.

State Schools Spectacular

Our 20 students participating in this year’s State Schools Spectacular Performance attended the final 2 days rehearsal on 14th and 15th September, and then had 2 live performances on Saturday 16th.

On all reports, the students had a wonderful experience and were able to observe a large scale professional production. Thank you to Julian Flanagan for organising the event, as well as, Craig Sketcher who attended to assist on the Saturday.

C4 Principal’s Conference

Greg Lacey, Elaine Lesiuk, Nicky Walker and myself attended the annual Casey/Cardinia area network conference on 14th and 15th September.

On the Thursday, we had a whole day with Andrew Fuller, a well-regarded consultant and presenter on the topics of neuroscience and learning; and the resilient mindset. We then had Marvin Oka, an expert in behavioural modelling, speak to us on the topics of leadership and strategic conversation.  This conference was very beneficial to our school’s leadership team.

Year 5 Camp

This week our year 5 students are camping for 5 days at Woorabinda, near Yallourn North. This is a fantastic and challenging adventure camp, which includes a one night outdoor tent camping experience. Both Greg Lacey and Nicky Walker are attending the camp.

Sentral Parent Portal

We are pleased to announce the opening of the parent portal on the school’s information management system called ‘Sentral.’ Shaun McEachern, one of our 2 ICT leaders, is leading the roll out of this system. A parent information session was held on Monday 18th after school for interested parents.

Division Athletics

A group of students will be accompanied by Liam Flanagan and Darren Gleeson, our PE teachers, to the division athletics on Wednesday 20th September. We wish our students the best of luck.

End of Term 3

We wish Chrissy Jedrys all the best as she commences her family leave at the start of term 4. We welcome back Meagan Walker in her role teaching 5C for term 4.
