MFG Living Garden

News from the Garden

The cold weather and short days throughout winter meant that things in our Living Garden slowed down a little. However, there are still some exciting things happening: flowers on the strawberry plants, plenty of thriving lettuce, silverbeet and broccoli, and lots of new little seedlings making their way through the soil.  Once spring arrives, things will start to really pick up again—watch this space!

Another exciting moment took place on Thursday 28th of July when gardening guru Costa Georgiadis spoke with the Year 10 peer support students via a lunchtime Skype session.  He spoke about the importance of connecting with the community through spaces such as our Garden, and answered questions from students. Many thanks to Amanda Patterson for organising this wonderful opportunity for our girls. Costa will continue to be involved with our school in future projects.
