The Big Science Competition

Returned to St Bede’s for 2019 with over 100 students from Years 7 to 10 competing. This year saw about half the students returning from competing in 2018, with the remainder new students to the competition in 2019. This shows Science at St Bede’s is thriving with new students always putting their hand up to be involved and showcase their talents in the subject.

The competition was held on Friday May 24 with the following students accepting the challenge to test their knowledge and skills in a variety of scientific areas, against other students from all around the country.

Congratulations to all of these students for participating and testing your scientific skills. 2018 saw three students receive the award of High Distinction which put their score in the top 5% of all students around the country who competed. There is a big chance that we will see more of these results in 2019 with some excellent students taking part. I look forward to sharing the results to you in a future newsletter in Term 3.
