Student Achievement Update

The U/16 Vic-Metro team won the recent national title on the Gold Coast. Two students, Lochie Benton and Blake Howes from Yr 10 were members of the team.

Having played the Vic Country team earlier last term, the team travelled to the Gold Coast to play the remainder of the carnival against the other state teams. Playing in some typical football conditions (wet and muddy) the Victorian team defeated South Australia with both Blake and Lochie being amongst the best players.

The final game was played against NSW in much better conditions, once again with the Vic team coming away with the win and the title.

The win is the first time in 10 years that the U/16 Vic-metro team has had success at this carnival.

At the conclusion of this carnival an All- Australian team is announced, with Blake Howes being included in the team for 2019. A fantastic achievement.

We congratulate both Lochie and Blake on this fine achievement and wish them every success in the future footballing pursuits.
