Music Update

Interesting music fact: A Stanford study shows that music engages areas of the brain which are involved with paying attention, making predictions and updating events in our memory.

IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP

The year 11 VCE music class and stageband students were fortunate to take part in an improvisation workshop run by Cheryl Durongpisitkul and her group Koi Kingdom. The group performed one of the songs from their first album to the students which had the students spellbound. Have a listen here:

Cheryl explained the creative process that her group went through in developing their songs. The students then all had a go at improvising and by the end of the session they had put together a totally improvised piece of music with two sections.
