Are you an alumn who has progressed a career in the gaming industry?
EMC is in the works of preparing an extra-curricular club to join the META High School eSports league in 2024.
eSports is an entirely new venture for EMC which will see students train with the support of peers and teachers in their respective games (Rocket League, League of Legends, NBA2K, Valorant and more) and compete weekly in organise competition against other schools.
We have a lot of planning to complete for next season but feel confident we will be up in running and a part of META in March next year.
Initially, this will run entirely as an extra-curricular social club with no connection to any specific subject. However, many other schools across Australia have started to imbed eSports and similar into their curriculum as elective subjects. Whilst this isn’t on the cards for us yet, it provides some really good insight to just how prevalent gaming has become in everyday life and the new associated careers that being introduced every single day.
We are seeking any alumni who have progressed a career in the gaming industry that could share some industry expertise with our students. This could be anything from organise professional competition right through to streaming and even coaching/managing professional teams.
If you have some careers expertise that you could present to our students, we would love to have you visit our eSports Club in the coming months. Please let us know if there is any support your could provide and we can provide some further details about what a future visit to EMC might look like.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Regards,

OurSchool Program
An introduction to Elisabeth Murdoch College Alumni (former students) program.
Elisabeth Murdoch College Alumni now has a program to build and mobilise the school’s alumni community, with the help of OurSchool.
OurSchool is a not-for profit service that helps public high schools build a thriving alumni network to benefit current students and the school community.
Alumni programs in private schools and universities are well established and provide huge benefits to students. Our alumni program will help us grow our alumni community to benefit our students.
The alumni program will focus on doing these key things:
· Find and connect with alumni
· Invite alumni back to school to inspire students about study and career pathways
· Create opportunities for students via alumni providing work experience placements
· Invite alumni to provide philanthropic support for students and our school by contributing to school fund-raising projects, student scholarships or gifts in wills (longer term goals)
If you’re reading this and you’re a former student of Elisabeth Murdoch College, Langwarrin Secondary College or Langwarrin Post Primary School, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us by sending an email to: alumni@emc.vic.edu.au.
