Family Engagement in Learning

Bridget O'Connor- Family Engagement Leader

Hello Trinity Families,

With NAPLAN results being released, our students can sometimes feel disheartened by how they went. I often look at this fantastic website, Happy Families that has wonderful resources that enable families to engage with their child's learning and help them build resilience in the face of learning challenges.

I thought this was one relevant:

It's important for children to know that learning can be challenging, and that sometimes we might be disappointed by a result.

This is where family engagement in learning becomes important; so that children can reflect with their parents and determine what they might do differently next time. The ability to discuss and be reminded that mistakes in our learning are human will allow children to develop a growth mindset and see the possibilities that come from identifying our mistakes.
