Our Preps 'Materials Construction' Incursion

Earlier this week our Prep students thoroughly enjoyed a 'Materials Construction' Incursion around their Inquiry learning. They engaged in play with their peers as they learnt about how materials can be used for construction. Thanks to Ms Caitlin for organising such an engaging 'hands on' learning experience for our Prep students. Have a look at how much fun they had...

Year 5/6 Excursion to The Lume

On Wednesday the Year 5/6 students visited 'The Lume' as part of their Inquiry learning. The exhibition on 'Connection' was insightful and thought provoking, and our students were respectful in the way they engaged with the art and listened to the stories by First Nations people. Thank you to Bridget O'Connor and Frank Anania for planning such a wonderful learing experience for our Year 5 and 6 students.

Playgroup- every Wednesday at Trinity

We have a wonderful Playgroup at Trinity that runs every Wednesday morning in the library from 9am. One of our amazing teachers Kate Foley sets up an engaging and fun learning space for parents and young children to spend time together and get to know other families in our local community. It is fun and free! Please spread the word as we always love welcoming new families to playgroup!

NAPLAN

Last Friday our Year 3 and 5 students received their NAPLAN results from the tests they undertook in March this year.  Achievement in NAPLAN is now reported against proficiency levels instead of the previous numerical NAPLAN bands. See below:

At Trinity, our results are very encouraging with many of our students sitting in the strong and exceeding levels, however it is important to remember that all children have different strengths and abilities and some children perform well under test conditions and others find it quite daunting and stressful. Please also keep in mind that NAPLAN tests are just one aspect of a school’s assessment and reporting process, and does not replace the extensive, ongoing assessments made by teachers about each student’s performance.

If you would like to chat about your child's NAPLAN results, or need help understanding the new proficiency levels, please make contact with your child's class teacher or myself.
