Sport & PE Update

Victorian School Netball Championships

On Thursday 27th July the school netball A and B team travelled to Knox Netball Centre to compete in the Victorian School Netball Championships.

The girls played a series of round robin games throughout the day. We were very proud of the way the girls worked together as a team and encouraged each other to improve their netball skills, especially those girls who hadn’t played netball before.

We were very grateful to Laura (Poppy’s mum) for her help on the day with supervising the B team, as well as the other parents who helped out with driving the girls to and from the tournament and Kate who helped with bringing food for the girls.

Winter Division Sport

This week we had 3 of our Interschool Sports team play off in the Monash Waverley Division Competition.

Firstly, congratulations to all the children who represented the school this week.

On Monday, our AFL team Played at Lum Reserve against 5 other Division Teams. Jells Park had a very successful day winning their first 3 games by an average of 50 points to make it through to the Grand Final. Unfortunately, they came up against a very strong Mt Scopus team. Congratulations on the Team for finishing Division Runners Up.

On Wednesday the Soccer team competed strongly against the other teams in their pool but unfortunately fell short on both occasions.

Our T-Ball team played today and will give a recap in the next Newsletter.

Great effort by all students who participated and thank you to the parents who drove students to venues and came to support the students playing.
