Vinnies Winter Appeal - Community Thank you

Following a mountain of Winter Appeal donations being handed over to the Vinnies Care and Support Team at the end of last term, we take this opportunity to thank our whole community for their support and generosity in this endeavour.

As always, we are so proud of all we can achieve together, in the Christian spirit of charity and stewardship. Please take a moment to view the video, and read the thank you letter. As always, Vinnies are deeply grateful for the support of the Mater Dei Catholic College Community in reaching those who are most vulnerable in the Riverina.

Terry Kennedy Nagle Awards 2023

This year's Presentation Heritage Schools Network group sought entries into the Terry Kennedy Nagle Award. Entries were to be themed around the central premise of living "Love in Action”, as inspired by Nano Nagle and illustrated in the form of a video with a limit of 2 minutes.

The selection committee’s feedback was that all the entries were very creative and illustrated student's understanding of Nano and how their school lives “love in action”, in her spirit. Student winners are awarded their prize in the form of gift cards to the value of $150; one to keep ($75), and one to share with their favourite charity ($75) in the true presentation spirit.

Congratulations to our very own Year 7 Student, Ava Graham for being named the

Junior Secondary Winner of the Terry Kennedy Nagle Award, 2023!

World Youth Day 2023: 1-6 August Lisbon, Portugal

The official prayer for World Youth Day Lisbon 2023 is themed around the Presentation of Mary, particularly relevant for us at Mater Dei. We hold all the Pilgrims from the Wagga Wagga Diocese in our prayers, especially our very own staff members, Jackie Walker and Emma Thomson in our thoughts and prayers.

Our Lady of the Visitation,

you who left in haste towards the mountain to meet Elizabeth,

lead us also to meet all those who await us to deliver them the living Gospel: Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord!

We will go in a hurry, with no distraction or delay, but with readiness and joy. We will go peacefully, because those who take Christ take peace, and well doing is the best well being.

Our Lady of the Visitation, with your inspiration, this World Youth Day will be the mutual celebration of the Christ we take, as You once did.

Make it a time of testimony and sharing,

fraternisation, and giving thanks,

each of us looking for the others who always wait.

With you, we will continue on this path of gathering,

so that our world will gather as well,

in fraternity, justice and peace.

Help us, Our Lady of the Visitation,  to bring Christ to everyone, obeying the Father, in the love of the Spirit!
