Primary Assembly

At our last assembly the following awards were handed out to students:

F/1 Respect: William A - For treating others the way he likes to be treated.

2/3/4 Respect: Xion - For always showing respect towards your classmates and teachers.

5/6 Respect: Adelle - For respecting other's opinions and being willing to listen.

F/1 Willing to Learn: Alex B - For listening carefully during carpet time.

2/3/4 Willing to Learn: Caleb - For wanting the challenge himself by doing homework this week.

5/6 Willing to Learn: Ayla - For trying her best and working well independently.

F/1 Safe: Winnie - For always using the school equipment safely.

2/3/4 Safe/Responsible: Suzen - For always being responsible both in and out of the classroom.

5/6 Safe: Ivy - For taking care of her buddies in the morning.

5-6 Science

The year 5-6 students have been experimenting and observing different chemical reactions. The students have investigated mixing vinegar with bicarb soda and how it creates a gas called carbon dioxide. 

Students tried an experiment where they investigated mixing a packet of mentos and Coca Cola. The results were very exciting.

Next, the students are making a rocket and a car using a different materials such as vinegar, bicarb soda, alka seltzer tablets and water. We will show those results in the next Whyalla.

Kinder Excursion

 "On Tuesday we went to the Kinder for a visit. First we walked to the kinder. Then we had a play. I rode a bike and I was doing the stop and go sign and I was racing Olivia. Last we walked back. I had fun with the kinder kids."
