Premiers Sporting Challenge
Premiers Sporting Challenge
This term students and staff have signed up to complete the Premiers Sporting Challenge. The Premiers Sporting Challenge is an initiative run by the NSW Department of Education School Sport Unit encouraging students to be 'more active, more often'.
Students are logging their physical activity minutes for any activity they do, football training, soccer training, self-defence classes, bike riding, dog walking are all examples of eligible minutes to be included in the challenge.
Throughout the term students will be offered opportunities to add to their minutes by participating in physically active opportunities during lunch and recess, students are encouraged to attend these sessions and add these minutes to their logbooks.
Each class has been assigned student ambassadors for the Premiers Sporting Challenge. These students will assist their teacher in setting up equipment in PE lessons, as well as encourage their peers to join in on the lunchtime sports and to be more active, more often. Students have received ambassador badges and should aim to wear these each and every day!
At the end of the challenge, students will receive a certificate indicating their level of achievement. Students who consistently achieve the Diamond level and attend the lunchtime activities will be further recognised.
