Music Eisteddfod Winners Concert

The recent Music Eisteddfod featured performances from hundreds of John XXIII College students in a wonderful celebration of the arts. Fantastic spirit, musicianship and camaraderie were displayed by all students and families of our community in a packed weekend of music-making and applause.

Guest adjudicators of the Eisteddfod acknowledged some performances of particular merit, who were awarded medals and trophies at the recent Secondary Eisteddfod Winners Concerts with Primary's event to follow:

  • Primary Winners’ Concert – Thursday, 17 August – 3:30pm – GLBT

Congratulations to all participants and award winners! Points from across the Eisteddfod contribute to the Music Shield, which will be presented at an upcoming assembly.

Year 4 Musical

Next Monday, 14 August, Year 4 students will perform the annual Year 4 Musical at a matinee concert and to a sold-out show in the evening. The show, Little Shop of Horace, is the culmination of hard work commencing at the start of the year. The students are taken through the steps of putting on a full-length show, from the audition process in Term 1, to blocking, learning choreography, singing, acting development, and following stage directions and backstage tasks. The students also enjoy the full production experience including costumes, make-up, lighting, and a live band of professional musicians! Many parents have also been involved with costumes, props and make-up.

Best wishes to the students and staff involved!
