We have had and are having some exciting events! 

Year 11 Tertiary Experience Excursion to Swinburne University 

All Year 11 students attended Swinburne University on Thursday 3 August for a Tertiary Experience Day. Students made their own way to Swinburne, pretending they were University students. They then listened to some current students talk about their experiences at Swinburne, their course and what was different about university study to school. We then toured the facilities and students engaged in workshops in design, law, business, and space. It was a great way for students to get insight into what University/Tafe will be like and it gave them the opportunity to ask questions on courses in a smaller setting than Open Day.  

Future Insights Event 3 – Tuesday 15 August 2023 

Our last Future Insights Event of the year will be held next Tuesday 15 August from 3.30 to 5pm in the IRC. Students and parents from year 9-12 are welcome to attend and can book at the following link: https://events.humanitix.com/future-insights-careers-event-8au6hfky. 

This event will follow the same structure as the last one with our speakers firstly presenting on their courses and then their careers. A panel discussion with questions open to the audience will follow. At this stage our speakers include: 

Maddie – Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Science – now a Consultant at EY 

Olivia – Bachelor of Arts/Masters in Human Resource Management 

Imke – Bachelor of Science (majoring in Geographical Science/Sustainability) – Program Coordinator at Banksia Foundation 

Jade – Bachelor of Design/Bachelor of IT (majoring in Communication Design and Computer Networks and Security) 

Natalie – Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours) – now a Consultant at Think Impact Australia 

Rukshikaa – Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology – now a Provisional Psychologist 

Annabelle – Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science/Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) –  currently an Intern at Victorian Institute of Sport 

I strongly recommend this event to all students. Opportunities to speak to people and ask questions about different courses in this setting is invaluable.
