We look forward to meeting with families during our next round of parent teacher conferences. These conferences serve as a vital bridge between teachers and parents, aiming to further improve communication and collaboration in a student’s educational journey. During this time parents can gain further insight into their child’s academic progress, social development and overall well-being within the school environment. Teachers also benefit from the insights parents are able to provide about a student’s home life and needs, which in turn enables a more holistic understanding of each student. Some good questions that families could ask at conferences are:
Homeroom teacher interviews will be held onsite at Shelford on Thursday 14 September 1.30 - 6.30pm.
A communication will be sent to families soon informing you how to book your upcoming parent teacher conferences.
Parents/Carers can choose to complete their parent teacher conferences onsite at Shelford, remotely via MS Teams, or a mix of both. Please see below for the relevant dates and options available:
Thursday 17 Aug (1.40-8pm) – Onsite at Shelford (no remote option)
Tuesday 22 Aug (2.30-8pm) – Remotely/Online via MS Teams (no onsite option)
A communication will be sent to families soon informing you how to book your upcoming parent teacher conferences.
On these dates’ classes will finish at 12.40pm to provide a lunch break for teachers prior to the start of the conferences.
On the dates of the Junior School Specialist Parent Teacher Conferences, supervision will be provided for JS students until 3.15pm if required.
Please contact Vicky Gemmell if your daughter will require supervision at Shelford on either of these dates.
Families in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 will have now received their child’s NAPLAN report. We are currently in the process of unpacking the information and sharing it with teachers so that they can leverage their students’ strengths for learning growth. The NAPLAN data, along with other data sources and all that we know about our students, help us to further inform our teaching practices, to set goals in numeracy and literacy, and plan support and extension for individuals and cohorts.
