Garden

In the last two weeks, we have continued with our citrus theme.  Year 3/4 and 5/6 students tasted oranges and clementines from our school garden and we made more pink lemonade (coloured with a splash of freshly pressed beetroot juice). It was great to see almost everyone tasting the fruit they have never tried, like ruby grapefruit.

Lemonade was a hit and most children tried it, even though they were unsure about it at first. We added some sugar, but it was still tangy so we could taste the lemons. Students compared the amount of sugar in a can of Solo soft drink with our school made lemonade - Solo has twice as much sugar!

Did you check out our gardening noticeboard? It's located to the left of the office entrance. There you can read what we're doing in the garden and see photos of activities we're completing.

We also have a section called We really need where we list items we could use if you have them at home and no longer need. Reusing rather than buying is what we try to do and your donations are always appreciated.
