Preparing for Prep

Last week we welcomed our Prep 2024 students to their first 'Preparing for School' session. The children joined our current Prep students in their classroom for some special activities. These sessions give our new students the opportunity to become familiar with the school environment, their teacher and school routines. The next 'Preparing for School' session will be held on Wednesday, 16 August.

Grandparents' & Special Friends' Day

Grandparents and special friends are invited to our special morning on Wednesday, 16 August 2023 from 10.30am to 1.30pm. Invitations were sent out this week. Please respond by 11 August 2023 so that we know numbers for catering purposes.

100 Days of School for Preps

On Thursday our Prep students celebrated 100 days of school by enjoying many activities focused on '100'.

In their time at school the children have interacted with their peers and teachers, fostering social and emotional development as they learn to collaborate and communicate effectively. They have participated in educational experiences that lay a strong foundation for future academic learning and intellectual growth. It is wonderful to see their growing confidence and independence in both the classroom and playground.

We congratulate our Preps and wish them well on their learning journeys.

You can read more about the Prep's 100 days in 'What's Happening in Prep SO'.

PFA Bush Dance Family Night

What a fabulous night was had by all at last Friday night’s PFA Family Bush Dance led by the Blackberry Jam Bush Band. The hall was alive with energetic dancing and lots of fun and our students were able to show off the cool dance moves they had learned from an earlier Blackberry Jam incursion.

Many thanks to our dedicated PFA team and generous sponsors, whose support made this lively evening possible.

It was very atmospheric with lots of happy faces and people enjoying themselves. Étienne

The toffee apples, popcorn and pizza were very yummy. Hamilton

Very crazy, chaotic and super duper fun. Loved the food and dressing-up. Rachel

Very energetic with lots of unique instruments like a lagerphone and concertina. Mila

Great time to meet new people. Dancing was fun. I got to partner up with friends. Sienna

Student Intentions for 2024

We have commenced planning for next year and request families to email  principal@santglen.catholic.edu.au if your child is currently in Prep to Year 5 and will not be returning to our school next year.

Curriculum Day

Our Curriculum Day proved a valuable time for our school staff to engage in growth and collaboration. The day centered around three areas: analysing feedback from our recent ‘School Review - Dialogue and Engagement 2023’; exploring and refining planning techniques, led by Donna Anderson, MACS Learning Consultant School Effectiveness; and, updating digital skills using Microsoft tools.

We appreciate the opportunity to meet as a team and being able to collaborate together.

School Fees & Levies 2023
