Year 12 Theatre Studies Laramie Project Scene Study

The VCE Theatre Studies students put on their play based on the true story of Matthew Shepard from Wyoming in America who was murdered. The story is a heart wrenching story about homophobia, difference and identity.

They worked on this performance for 3-4 months. The students must direct, act, design and produce a full play by themselves with only teacher guidance.

Well done to the Class of 2017 for performing their major performance task for semester 1.

'ANYTHING GOES' Rehearsals

The musical, ‘Anything Goes’ rehearsals are in full swing. Students are working extremely hard on producing an amazing and entertaining classic show. The amount of commitment by the students is wonderful. Rehearsals are held 3 times a week, Tuesday and Thursday after school and Sunday morning (always tricky to get students out of bed on a Sunday – but we are managing).

As the Musical Producer I am delighted to see how the show is taking shape. The songs by the infamous Cole Porter are sung with such ease and the dances look fabulous!

We would love to thank the amazing Chloe Falvey from Year 11 who has designed our logo this year. It looks amazing and captures the fun we are all having during our rehearsal process.

We would love to have a  'sell out' this year, so spread the word and ‘Jump on board’. You won’t be disappointed.

Tickets are on sale through trybooking:

We are running a Trivia Night on Friday July 21st at 7pm.  We would love as many people as possible to attend this night as all money raised will go towards the musical. We are fully self-funded and need to raise at least $15,000 . The Trivia Night will include fun games, a silent auction and lots more. BYO food and drinks.

Year 10 Theatre Studies’ performance of JACK the RIPPER

The Year 10 Theatre Studies class has been working on their major performance task for approximately 3-4 weeks. They were to create a play based on the true events of Jack the Ripper.  Group 1 performed on Tuesday 23rd May in front of a great audience of peers.

They captivated the audience and told the stories of how 11 people were murdered. The group worked really hard on all aspects of their play. Acting, directing, lighting, set, costumes, make up and also props.

I was extremely proud of their efforts during this assessment. Group 2 will perform their interpretation of Jack the Ripper next week.

Group 1 members were:

Back row: Dennon, Aimee ,Leah, Amber, Nikita

Front row: Jamie, Darcey, Amy, Siobhan, Belle.
