Future Tahs 7's Gala Day

Last Thursday teams of primary students participated in the Future Tahs 7's Gala Day. Our two under 10's teams played against teams from Moree Public, Bingara and Warialda. They were up against some fierce competition but showed great spirit in each of their games and were unlucky not to register a win. Our under 12's teams were very competitive. St Philomena's 1 only lost one game going down to the eventual winners of the day Warialda. St Philomena's 2 registered a great win against Warialda 2. An under 12's squad will now head to Tamworth to compete in the regional finals at the end of the term. Thank you to all of our parents who coached teams on the day.

Classic Wallabies Visit

The Classic Wallabies visited St Philomena's students last Friday. The children were fortunate enough to meet many past Wallaroo and Wallaby players. They participated in a skills clinic where they focused on ruck and maul, passing and tackling. The students enjoyed themselves and learnt a lot from these past greats.

Armdiale Diocesan Winter Trials

Last Friday many of our students participated at the Armidale Diocesan Winter Trials in Tamworth. They competed against students from all over the diocese for a place in the rugby league, soccer, netball and hockey teams. Will Stevenson and Jace Swan impressed selectors gaining selection in the rugby league team, Will Seery was selected in the soccer team, Sophie Hunter was selected in the netball team and Chevy Thorburn was selected in the hockey team. These talented athletes will now head back to Tamworth to trial for the Polding team next term. Well done to all of our students who trialed on the day.
