Viewbank Health and Wellbeing on Facebook @vbcwellbeing

You can check out a range of Wellbeing related info with posts about relevant issues related to young people and parenting as well as upcoming events and programs.

If you are interested in being involved with Health and Wellbeing related initiative and events all parents are welcome to attend the next Friends of Health and Wellbeing meeting next Tuesday the 24th April.

We also strongly recommend the Tuning into Teens workshops to parents and we had 19 parents involved in this last year who all highly rated the experience! Some quotes from parents

‘Harmony in our home! My partner was able to be more supportive and I was able to express my frustrations without retribution. I felt heard and was able to listen to my child more effectively’

‘It was difficult to imagine such a small (easy) shift could make such a positive impact’

‘Situations less prone to esculate and more positive coversations with my teen which I really enjoyed’.

‘I will be spruiking this course to anyone who will listen! Great program, glad I did it’.

Understanding Parent Payment Categories

Essential Student Learning Items (Essentials)

These are items, activities or services that Viewbank College deems essential to student learning of the standard curriculum.  They can include additional materials for Arts, Science & Technology, online resources, College planner, photocopying and whole school events.

Optional Items

These relate to important College activities that we strongly recommend families contribute to however it is not compulsory to do so.  The College Magazine, camps, excursions and other extra-curricular activities are included in this category.  Students access these on a user-pays basis.

Voluntary Contributions

The College Council seeks your support with the following contributions as together we can make a difference to the programs, facilities, and services provided at Viewbank College to best support student learning. The amounts allocated to these contributions within Compass are recommendations by the College Council to meet the budget requirements for 2019; however you may nominate any amount against these contributions.  This option may be particularly beneficial when choosing to support the Building Fund, as any contribution over $2 is tax deductible.

Value Added Contribution

Supports the provision of guest speakers and presenters; cultural and lunchtime activities; homework club activities, peer support, leadership and study skills programs; Compass communication and learning resource platform; additional first aid materials and the employment of a grounds/maintenance person.
