Annual Concert
Ms Nicole Bull, Academic Dean of Performing Arts
Congratulations to all students who participated in the Annual Music Concert on Friday, 18 August at Robert Blackwood Hall.
The concert highlighted a wide variety of ensembles and choirs and showcased the many talents of our students in the Music School. Performances included Preps to Year 12s featuring numerous ensembles including string, flute, clarinet, guitar, bands, orchestras, choirs and jazz and blues performances.
The highlight of the evening was the massed singing of all students from Years 7 to 10 plus instrumentalists from Year 11 and 12 singing the popular John Farnham No. 1 hit You’re the Voice. Kilvington was incredibly lucky to have Scotch College students Jack White and Mihin Perera perform a bagpipe solo during this number.
Special thanks to all the Music Staff, backstage organisers and crew and supervising teachers who assisted during the day rehearsal and evening performance.
It was so exciting to see the depth of talent, and the sheer number of students participating in the many music opportunities offered to them as part of their co-curricular studies.
Any student who would like to join one of the many ensembles or choirs is encouraged to speak to Ms Bull.
Seussical Junior
The Year 5s and 6s have been working incredibly hard on Seussical Jr, which will be performed in Dalton Hall in seven week’s time. Ticket information for this performance will be announced in coming weeks. It was so exciting to see a small snippet of this performance at the Annual Music Concert.
Student Achievements
Huge congratulations to Saskia Mascitti who was awarded first place in the Eisteddfod by the Bay Solo Classical Section, Years 15 – 16.
Also, congratulations to Angela Wasley (Kilvington Grammar Voice teacher) for teaching and preparing Saskia for this event.
