The Latest at After School Care

We've had some lovely weather over the past few week, and with the end of the AFL season fast approaching, we've been making the most of it by imitating some of our favourite players each afternoon. The kids have improved remarkably in their skills since the start of the season!
We also conducted the first official After School Care Ninja Warrior competition. The kids climbed, crawled and slid their way around an intricate course to see which way was the quickest. Although we were very eager to see what time we each got, the most pleasing thing to see was the encouragement that everyone gave to each other! You could not wipe the smile off my face that day!
We also had National Science Week recently, during which we explored different aspects of outer space. As a group, we made a paper-mache planet, building it up to what we felt would be the best planet.

We also conducted a science experiment, exploring the make-up of the sun!

In addition, we created star and moon magnets for our fridge and made some 'alien biscuits'. That was a very hot topic with 50% of us believing in them!
The children also enjoyed playing charades and silent ball, making blueberry mug muffins and creating indoor rainbows over the past two weeks.
