even better for brunswick

Claudia Johnson
Assistant Principal
In recent months the Facilities Team completed a number of projects inside buildings and around the school grounds. Staff continually work toward improvement of the buildings and grounds and in turn, this improves both student and staff experiences at the college.
Access
To improve accessibility to the school, we have improved the Dawson Street entrance between A Block and D Block and promoting it as a pedestrian entrance/exit at the start and end of the school day. Until now, the Fallon Street and General Office entrances have born all of this traffic, so this project aims to ease congestion and provide more convenience for both students and staff. This upgrade has reduced pedestrian traffic through the General Office area as well as provided ease of access for students who cycle to school.
As a bonus, this entrance will provide students and families with easy access to D Block for extra-curricular events including a variety of performances and Parent Information evenings, allowing them to take advantage of convenient parking on Dawson Street.
Window Furnishings
Window furnishings are being upgraded throughout the school on a progressive basis, and students have noticed, and appreciated, new blinds that protect against heat gain over summer and heat loss over winter in many classrooms.
Gardens and grounds
The gardens have been mulched and trimmed, ready the hot summer months ahead. A path has been installed between the Gym and the Performing Arts (D Block) building to facilitate mud-free student movement! Extra bins have been made available to ensure that our gardens remain free of rubbish.
