ANZAC Day Badge Selling

As part of the Personal Development Skills Unit of work, the VCAL students are committed to numerous community projects. A recent project has involved selling ANZAC Day badges along with Dunhelen students.  The ANZAC Appeal has raised funds for years to support former and serving members of the Australian Defence Forces and their allies and dependents when needed, as well as fostering respect and thanks from the nation for all those who have made sacrifices in Australia’s name.

Blanket Donations

Another project that the VCAL students will be working on this term is making blankets for the Cat Protection Society. The students are accepting donations of clean blankets which are no longer needed at home or any thick cloth or fleecy material. The community project involves the students creating and designing smaller blankets from them. They will be cutting and hemming the material before they are donated. The blankets will be placed with a newly adopted cat, so that they can go to their new home complete with a comfy blanket. The students are hoping to receive a generous amount of blanket donations as the students, along with Mrs Harsan, are planning to make at least 100 blankets. Please help our project by donating any material or old blankets. We would gratefully appreciate your support. Donation boxes will be situated at Reception and the Senior School office for your convenience.
