Library News
Welcome to a new year in the library. The library is looking great and is a wonderful space for the children to use. There are plenty of activities on offer for children to do or a place to come and chill with a book.
Children will borrow from the library during rotational groups this year. Hopefully students can remember and return library books weekly or at least fortnightly. If not the library is open before school and at lunch times on other days for returning.
Therefore borrowing day for years Kinder, Year 3 and 4 is Wednesday. Years 1, 2, 5 and 6 will borrow on Thursday.
All children should have a library bag. Infants children may borrow 2 books and primary 4. Primary students should leave 1 book in their desk for classroom reading.
Children who have not returned books from last year need to do so ASAP so that they may borrow in 2020.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge begins on the 2nd March. After this date I will be able to issue logins for children. You may begin reading books for the challenge and write them down ready to login in March. Please think about taking up the challenge this year. The challenge concludes 28th August.
Junior Librarians
Year 6 children who have an interest in helping in the library are asked to apply for the position of Junior librarian. Mrs Gollan will speak to all Year 6 students about the role of a Junior Librarian. Expression of interest forms will be available in the library.
Bookclub 2020
Scholastic Book Club is a great way to buy books and support our library. Catalogues will come home in your child’s schoolbag each term. Book Club provides a fun and convenient way of bringing the best in children's literature into your home. It’s packed full of exciting books from best-selling authors, popular titles and series that kids love, as well as products and books that make perfect gifts for younger siblings who may not be at school yet. Ordering from Book Club is easy—simply go online and place your order through the LOOP system if possible and then Scholastic’s ‘book elves’ take care of the rest. Before you know it, your child will have a lovely surprise to take home once their order gets delivered to their classroom. When ordering from Book Club, you are not only helping your children, but you are also helping your school—20% of your spend goes back to your school in valuable Scholastic Rewards, which are used to buy library/classroom resources.
