Parents & Friends Support Network (P&FSN)

 

Our Aim:  

The aim of the P&FSN is to encourage and support parent, family and community involvement within the Mount Alvernia College. This is achieved through the organisation of community events throughout the academic year, strategically funding initiatives that support teaching and learning and upgrading college facilities that enhance future events and activities. 

 

P&FSN Meetings:

Meetings are held on a Tuesday evening, once per term. The meetings are onsite at the college and live streamed to cater for families unable to attend the event. Meeting notices and agenda are advertised in the college newsletter and via the Mount Alvernia Parents Facebook page. 

 

Ideas & Requests: 

Do you have an idea or request which meets the aims of the P&FSN? We want to hear about it! Please send an email detailing your request for our consideration.

P&FSN Executive Team

As a parent or caregiver of Mount Alvernia College students, each one of you becomes an important member of the Parent and Friends Network. The aim of the Network is to encourage involvement within the college community as much, or as little, as you can. Your involvement helps provide a supportive and inclusive community providing opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and develop socially and educationally to get the very best out of your time within our community.

My name is Lidia Ranalli, and I am the chairperson of the Mount Alvernia Parents and Friends support network. On the Executive with me is Sheryn Neal, our Secretary, and Jo Galvin, our Treasurer. 

 

As an Executive unit we host four network meetings, including the AGM which will be held on 15 March. All our members and the College Leadership Team are invited to attend, either in person or online. We plan three events a year, COVID-19 permitting. 

 

2022 Event & Meeting Dates

The 2022 P&FSN  AGM and first General Meeting will be at 6.30pm on Tuesday 15 March. You can also participate online through theMicrosoft Teams meeting link.

 

We are hoping to have an experience onsite for this first meeting of the year. Please keep an eye out for future communication (via the college app and Parents Facebook Page) around this exciting event.

 

One Drive Link

This year we are trialling a new way of sharing P&FSN meeting agendas and minutes. We have created a shared OneDrive folder and will publish the link to this drive in each edition of the Parent Corner. In this way, we hope that the documents are more accessible to the college community.
