GYC Course Counselling

On Monday June 21 GYC staff members attended the Austins Ferry Campus to meet with our Year 10s to discuss possible pathways and subject choices for what lies ahead in Year 11 and 12. 

Regardless of where our Year 10s see themselves next year the opportunity to discuss career and subject options is of great benefit. Hopefully this session provided many answers to key questions our student have and some different ways of thinking about their future study, work and training options.  

Kibera Black Stars Soccer Tournament Highlights House Spirit

One of the strengths associated with an all-boys environment and how it can be manifested, was on display this week as boys participated in highly competitive House-based games of futsal. Over the past two weeks House groups have played off against each other for a place in the Mary Rice Cup Grand Final which will be played this Friday on Mary Rice Day. 

All games were played with great spirit  within the Edmund Rice Hall where the atmosphere was was electric with huge numbers showing up to support their House. The last round of games on Monday were both decided by nerve jangling penalty shootouts with both games ending in nil all draws. After a series of spot kicks Doyle and Joyce prevailed and will meet in the Grand Final on Friday to be played on the JPC Oval at 12 noon.
