BOOK WEEK – Don’t forget – Coming Soon!
Young Australian Best Book Awards
Between now and the end of Term 3 students will be participating in YABBA. This annual competition is the Young Australian Best Book Awards which started in 1986. This is the only competition which has books nominated and voted for by actual school children. Nominations are made in Term 1. Books must be Australian and have been published within the last 10 years.
Authors who win YABBA Awards truly represent the preferences of children and are rarely the same as winners judged by adults.
These are the nominated books in each section. There are many favourites that are always in circulation from our Library. Students will vote in Library classes after they have inspected the books. They can only vote for one book out of all four sections.
