NAIDOC Celebration

We have had a big focus on Indigenous culture this week across the school, as we recognise our wonderful Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island people and heritage. Today students and staff wore the colours of NAIDOC.

The NAIDOC 2021 theme – Heal Country! – calls for all of us to continue to seek greater protections for our lands, our waters, our sacred sites and our cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration, and destruction.

Miss Tamara and our FIRE Carrier students supported each class to become more aware of the way our school supports positive waste disposal. We have re-introduced the recycling of soft plastics and these will be sent to Red Cycle to be repurposed and made into durable outdoor furniture, signs, plastic wheels and mounts, to name a few. We are also busy looking into ways that we can recycle our food scraps and have been in contact with Frankston City Council to investigate options. Stay tuned for future announcements!

Harper's wonderful hair donation!

On Monday, Harper in year 3 had all her hair chopped off for a beautiful cause. She donated her long locks to be made into wigs for people who suffer with alopecia. What a generous and thoughtful idea Harper - we are all proud of you!
