Welcome Back for Term 3!

Welcome back to all our families and students! We are excited to be back and are looking forward to a fabulous Term 3. There is plenty to look forward to this term, both in and out of the classroom, culminating with our Year 5/6 School Camp to Sovereign Hill in Week 8.

Thankfully we have been able to reschedule a number of postponed events from Term 2 including First Communion and the Transition Day to JPC. We are also trying to coordinate some interschool sport days with other schools for the games we missed during lockdown. This is proving tricky, however we will do our best to reschedule as many games as possible.

Term 3 in the Classroom

This term we have a number of focus areas in different areas of the curriculum:

Maths: Units will include Time, Fractions, Probability - Chance and Location and Transformation (maps and coordinates).

Literacy: Writing will include poetry and letter writing. We will also celebrate Book Week in Week 9.

Inquiry: Identity and Diversity - with a focus on Australian history between 1800 - 1900. This will be linked to our school camp to Sovereign Hill and will look at the Gold Rush era.

Education in Faith: Will be linked to our Inquiry unit of Identity and Diversity with a focus on what identifies us as Catholics, including the Sacraments of Initiation of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
