Many articles are written about the importance of reading to your children from a very early age, but I have something different for you today.

I have included for you, an article written about the benefits of reading aloud to our older children. This article struck a chord with me, as recently I visited my 22 year old daughter, Stephanie. I was about to sit down and read my book when I realised I had forgotten my reading glasses in the other room.  Stephanie said, “ I will read it to you Mum”. And she did. I can’t even describe how wonderful it felt to have someone read my book to me. A book that I was familiar with and knew all the characters.

If you have older children, give it a go. Read the article and see if any of the amazing outcomes happen to you and your child too.

A note about the library being open every morning between 8.45am and 9.00am for borrowing. Whilst you can return a book anytime in the library returns chute, you will need to come see me at the front office if you wish to borrow a book during that time.

Happy Reading.
