Thank you to all parent volunteers who have been able to help tomorrow. Year 3-6 students will leave Galilee and walk to MSAC at 9am to begin their Swimming Carnival. Please ensure they are at school on time. Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students will be bussed to MSAC from 10.00am.  ALL students must have their bathers on under their sport uniform.

Everyone must have plenty of healthy foods to eat throughout the day, water, sunscreen, hat, goggles, towel and underwear packed in a backpack.  Please ensure all items are clearly labelled.  Students will be given their house team swimming cap on the day.

No lunch orders tomorrow, please cancel any recurring online orders for tomorrow only.

Dads & Kids Camp

The 4th Annual Dads and Kids Camp was held last weekend at YMCA Camp Wyuna, Queenscliff.

We had perfect weather on the Saturday for all the activities which included a bike ride, pizza making and canoeing.

The canoeing saw lots of splashing of friends and we also managed to catch another banjo shark by hand to show the kids.

The day finished with a BBQ and toasted marshmallows around the fire.

It was great to see the kids across different year levels playing together, explore the camp site and look out for each other.

The shared experiences both the kids and dads take away from the camp, can only make the school community stronger.

Thank you to the YMCA staff and Wendy for all your help in organising the camp.

School Captains News

Last weekend, Loukas, Thomas and Henry in Year 5 participated for places in the Port United teams. There were three weeks of tryouts and after waiting for an answer, they all got in. They all got into the Under 14 competition teams. They have all been playing for a very long time with all of them playing for around 4 years and with all that hard work, they got into some of the top teams and Thomas had last year, been in a Port United team. In one season they have 36 games every Friday. There are 10 minute quarters and they play against some really tough teams so it will be a very hard challenge but they are excited for them and good luck for their first game this Friday. Well done for this accomplishment!

Will in Year 3 participates every Tuesday in art classes, from 4 to 6pm after school at Artea. Artea is in Port Melbourne and hosts art classes as well as parties over the holidays. He learns about how to draw things. He especially liked learning about perspective drawings as well as Pablo Picasso a few weeks ago. In Will’s drawing classes there are around 10 people. He has been doing it for 3 years. His favourite thing about art class is learning about famous artists and then doing what they do. His favourite artist is Leonardo Da Vinci because he is good at painting and draws on walls and is famous. At the end of term they have an art party where you can draw whatever and are served biscuits.
