IPSHA Student Leaders Conference
Miss Amelia Daun
Today eighteen Grade 6 boys participated in the annual IPSHA Student Leaders Conference. They participated via Zoom with independent schools from all around Tasmania. The theme of the conference was 'Leadership from the Heart.' The boys learned that good leaders use all their intelligences: their head, which is about thinking; their heart, which is about feeling; and their gut, which is about action. They reflected on how they can 'put love in the driver seat' of their leadership and lead with compassion.
Swimming Representative Carnivals
On Thursday March 18 we participated in the JSSATIS Swimming Carnival, held at Hobart Aquatic Centre. Team SVC was 19 boys strong, who encouraged their team members and represented the College with pride. Our team went well, picking up a few second and many third places. Henry Mollon was a standout in his Division A Backstroke Event, coming a close second, while Isaac Hayes swam well in his Division D Freestyle event, taking out another second place. We had strong performances by our relay teams, whilst each of the boys cheered SVC at the top of their lungs in the stands.
We look forward to hopefully having our parents and friends cheering us on in next year’s carnival!
