Well, We Found the Well

For some time, the white picket fence in the c1930 photograph of De La Salle College has been a topic of conversation in the O'Connor Archives.  Now, after many years of speculation, have discovered out that the site of the College original water source has been found.

For some time I have believed the indentation in the driveway was where the well was in the early days of the College.

With Catholic Education being delivered on the grounds since the Patrician Brother's opened St Patrick's College in 1892, a fresh water source would have been essential.

Just recently in the course of our building works at the College, of the area was dug up and part of the original circular wall was found. Just another piece of the College puzzle solved.
