Huntingtower's Head of STEM Internationally Recognised
Congratulations to Mr. Greg Hellard who has been selected for the Space Foundation’s Teacher Liaison Program! Teacher Liaisons are extraordinary educators who use space-related education programs and principles in the classroom.
On April 12th, the Space Foundation, a nonprofit advocate organisation founded in 1983 for the global space ecosystem, announced that it has selected 27 outstanding educators to join its internationally recognised Teacher Liaison program in 2021. Of the 27, there were 13 international applicants from Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, Serbia, South Africa and Taiwan, bringing the total to more than 300 worldwide.
The educators were chosen for their commitment to space education for K-12 students.
Our Head of STEM, Mr. Greg Hellard, has been invited to join Flight 18-21 for 2021. Each selected class of Teacher Liaisons is called a “flight” in reference to the teachers’ mission as premier space educators, inclusive of STEM, non-STEM, and 21st century business and life skills.
Huntingtower students look forward to learning even more about space science and STEM education as our school community moves into an exciting space-based future.
Well done Mr. Hellard!
