Today we celebrate the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Today is a day to remember the boundless love God has for each one of us. We use the symbol of the heart which is associated with love and the picture of Jesus’ heart reminds us of how much he loves us. Let us remember that we have many opportunities to spread this love to others.

Just as Jesus’ heart was full of goodness, kindness and compassion, may we also have a heart that shows great love for others. May our lives be full of random acts of kindness and love by being a Christ-like presence in the world.

Let us reflect on the love Jesus has for us and how we can spread that love to others.

God’s love is deep and forever and will never fail us. (Pause)

God’s love helps us to be strong in our faith. (Pause)

God’s love helps us to be compassionate and walk in another’s shoes. (Pause)

God’s love helps us to open our eyes to the needs of others. (Pause)

God’s love is just and fair and helps us to support the weak and needy. (Pause)

God’s love helps us to be kind, understanding and generous to others. (Pause)

God’s love is a gift freely given to us and is easily shared with others. (Pause)

In keeping with out theme of JOYFUL JUNE, let us remember to find joy in the little things in life, and be grateful for our many blessings.

A Thankful Heart

Take nothing for granted, for whenever you do,

The "joy of enjoying" is lessened for you-

For we rob our own lives much more than we know, When we fail to respond or in anyway show

Our thanks for our blessings that daily are ours...

The warmth of the sun, the fragrance of flowers,

The beauty of twilight, the freshness of dawn,

The coolness of dew on a green velvet lawn,

The kind little deeds so thoughtfully done,

The favours of friends and the love that someone

Unselfishly gives us in a myriad of ways,

Expecting no payment and no words of praise-

Oh, great is our loss when we no longer find

A thankful response to things of this kind,

For the joy of enjoying and the fullness of living

Are found in the heart that is filled with thanksgiving.
