NHS students in award-winning short films

From the films

Congratulations! A New York Film Festival Award!

In late 2016, the Federal Office of the Children’s eSafety Commissioner made 8 short films about online bullying and cybersafety. Almost all of these were filmed by Brave Media at Northcote HS. They used actors in speaking roles, but Northcote HS students played all the non-speaking and extra parts. A few familiar staff faces can also be seen!

Last week the episode “Connor” won Bronze in the New York World’s Best TV and Film Awards.

You can see all 4 shorts released so far here

Special thanks and acknowledgement to all NHS students who supported and performed in these important and entertaining short films.

Half a million hits for “Tagged”

If you haven’t seen it, “Tagged”, a 20 minute film on cyberbullying and cybersafety can also be watched online. Still regularly used in Australian schools, it was filmed at NHS in 2012 and has also won several international awards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtEGAcLBTTA
