International students' news: engaging the community

Open Morning

Open Morning

On the School’s Open Morning this year, international students set up a Tea House to welcome visitors. International Students were in their Traditional Costume to serve hot green tea with sorted lollies and biscuits. The international students’ warm welcome initiative was well received by the visiting families in the cold rainy day. Wen Dan also played Gu Zheng (the traditional Chinese String instrument) for the visitors. Visitors were very impressed by Wen Dan’s music talent and were fascinated by the traditional musical instrument.

Host Family forum

The annual Northcote High School Host Family forum held on the 2nd of May was a great success.

The Host Family Forum provides opportunities for our host families to network, to share experiences and to speak out concerns and challenges. It is vital for the school community to hear from both host families and our students, to take their suggestions so that we can continually support and to ensure that our young International Students have quality care. The school community is very grateful for our host families’ support and contribution.

Our host families and students have enjoyed a sumptuous array of fruits, sandwiches and pizzas for dinner. It was such a pleasant evening enjoyed by all.
