VCAL Amazing Race

Race around the city

On Tuesday the 2nd of May, our VCAL class went on an excursion to the Eureka Skydeck and into the city. We all met at the Eureka at 10am to start our journey around the city. First we went up the tower and had a look at the amazing views, we were then put into 2 small groups to work together for our amazing race. Our teacher gave us a race sheet for each group, it had hints and facts about where and what we need to find around the city. Each destination we went to we had to take a group photo to prove that we were there. The main places our group went to was Flinders Street Station, Melbourne Central, State Library, China Town and back to Federation Square. Each place the race sheet gave us had points and we all tried our best to get the most points. There were also bonus points to get and a few of them were to grab some chop sticks from a restaurant called Sushi Sushi or sing in front of a crowd at Federation Square and record it.

At the end of the race we met up with our teacher at federation square for the next part of the day. We were to start planning an amazing race for a few of the Year 9 classes. The excursion was a fun way to learn how to start our own project managing and to learn how to set out and plan projects. Our group is planning on an amazing race themed around shopping. It was a very fun day out trying to figure out the clues and it helped put into practice some of the things we learned in class about project management and we can’t wait for the Year 9s to do our amazing race!
