Thomas Hughes, Year 12 2016 in Top Acts

Top Acts is the final event for this year’s VCE Season of Excellence and presents a selection of talented performers from across the Top Class 2017 concert series in one spectacular evening event. Outstanding works by students of VCE Dance, Drama, Theatre Studies, Music Performance, Music Style and Composition, Music Investigation, VCE VET Dance and VCE VET Music from 2016 will be showcased.

Tom Hughes, last year’s awarded Year 12 Drama student from Northcote High School, has been selected from the already elite group who performed earlier this year in Top Class to be one of the very few from across the state, private and state schools, to perform his solo examination piece in Top Acts. His solo performance will be a ‘best of the best” sample for Victorian students learning and teachers facilitating VCE drama this year. Tom has been a drama student over his six years at Northcote High and it is wonderful that his efforts, learnings and skills will be rewarded. Well done, Tom.

This spectacular concert will be held at 7.30pm on Friday 12 May at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

Tickets are $32.90 (concession $28.90, groups of 10-plus $24.90) and can be booked through Melbourne Recital Centre website   or by phone: (03) 9699 3333. Booking is recommended. Door sales will be subject to availability.
