Our skillful and dedicated musicians and support staff have just returned from a trip to Mt Gambier for the 2017 Generations in Jazz. The groups and individuals gave some outstanding performances and some of our students were selected for prestigious awards (see below). Congratulations!

Callum McKinnon-Mintzis

Congratulations to Callum McKinnon-Mintzis for receiving the Pat Corrigan Future Finalists award at this year's Generations In Jazz! The Pat Corrigan award is selected by the adjudicators of Division 1 as to who might be a Future Finalist in the James Morrison Scholarship. This is the second year in a row Callum was selected from all of the Division 1 schools as the best improvising soloist. As part of the selection, Callum improvised for an audience of 6000 people. The award comes with a large financial prize and is highly respected in the jazz industry in Australia. Well done, Callum!

Theo and Flora Carbo

Congratulations to Theo Carbo for becoming a James Morrison Scholarship finalist for the second year in a row! The James Morrison Scholarship is open to solo instrumentalists to further their jazz career. The winner will receive $10000 to assist their development. Theo was one of 7 students from around Australia chosen as a finalist for this prestigious award. A big congratulations to Flora Carbo (year 12 2016) for winning this highly respected scholarship.
