Year 3

THE VIEW FROM A WINDOW

The students of 3D have recently enjoyed a changing view outside their portable! The development of our new school buildings has seen students arrive each day to a changing view.

Before the commencement of this term's remote learning, 3D participated in a lesson about ‘A Windows View’. We read the wordless book, by Jennie Baker, titled ‘Window’. The class enjoyed learning that a wordless book tells a story through the pictures. We looked for cues within the pictures and made predictions about what was happening. Just like the book, our classroom's view is changing. We are able to see the alterations of the landscape which has brought rich classroom discussions. As part of our recent lesson, we turned our tables towards the window to draw what we could see. Students then completed a creative writing activity, about what they have drawn or seen through the window.

In the future, we hope to continue sharing our view with the wider school community.

YEAR 3 REMOTE LEARNING EXCELLENCE!

Remote Learning has been a challenge that the students in Year 3 were determined to succeed within.

The teachers would like to report that our students have shown great resilience when logging on and completing their Seesaw tasks. The usual work expectations, such as ruling up your page, answering in full sentences and presenting ‘our best’ work, has been the focus for our students. We are so proud of them and thus very keen to share a few of their efforts.

Well done Year 3s!

Foundation

On the 10th of June, our Foundation cohort were extremely lucky to meet one of their favourite people over WebEx. Sarah, from ‘Pevan and Sarah’, dropped in during a Writing lesson to congratulate the students for all their hard work during remote learning.  Pevan and Sarah are ABC Kids artists who create fun, engaging and educational videos that complement the lower-primary school curriculum. Foundation and Year 1 students from Clyde Primary School enjoy singing and dancing to their songs daily. During the WebEx, a few lucky students had the opportunity to ask some of their burning questions and enjoy a sing-along with Sarah. We were all very excited and felt humbled that Sarah was able to recognise all of our lovely Foundation students’ hard work during these challenging times.
